Regarding my paintings, a person once told me that she liked my "whimsical angst." I like that description and am happy to classify the style of the way I paint as such. I also like to describe the style as "representational abstract," where I celebrate the essence and not just the likeness.
I am also a part-time member of the lecturing faculty for the School of Social Sciences at the University of California, Irvine where I teach a course titled Art & Activism to undergraduates.
I was born in Seoul, Korea and moved to the United States in 1974. I grew up in Bakersfield, California and currently live in Santa Ana, California. I am an alumna of UC Irvine and UCLA.
