All of my works that I tag with #operainterrupted are inspired by my mom's story. When she was an undergraduate studying opera at Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea, her instructors pleaded with her to not get married and have babies because they said "The opera world needs your voice and if you marry and have babies, we will likely lose your voice."

Well, she got married and had babies, including me. And she did not become an opera singer.
